On Windows, we'll be using mIRC, a popular graphical IRC chat client.

IRC client setup instructions

  1. Download X-Chat for Windows from this link.
  2. Read through the material on Getting started with X-Chat. We'll practice using IRC in depth later in the day.

During this workshop we'll get practice using IRC and help each other as we contribute to projects in the #pycon-practice channel on the Freenode network.

To join it, scroll down in the Network list and find the Freenode network. Select it by clicking, then click Connect.

Once you connect, join the #pycon-practice channel.
